Pearson Edexcel International A level (IAL) is a modular qualification for international students. You sit it unit by unit, and the International AS (usually Year 12) is a qualification on its own.
When can I sit International A level exams?
Pearson runs exam series in January, May to June and October, but not every unit is offered in every series. Each subject's overview lesson lists which series its units are offered in for 2026/27.
When are the 2027 exams?
The January 2027 series runs from 8 January to 25 January 2027 and the Summer 2027 series from 4 May to 10 June 2027, according to Pearson's final timetables. See the exam dates page for every unit.
How many units make a full International A level?
It depends on the subject: the sciences have 6 units (3 AS and 3 A2), Mathematics has 6 (four pure plus two applied), most other subjects have 4, and Accounting, Arabic and Greek have 2. Law is linear, with two papers sat together in June.
Is A level-ready free?
Yes. Lessons, practice questions and progress tracking are free. You can use the site without an account; an account only keeps your progress across devices.
Is A level-ready made by Pearson?
No. A level-ready is run by The Ready Society and is an independent resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced by Pearson. Pearson, Edexcel and the qualification names are used only to describe the courses the lessons cover. Always check the current specification and exam entries with your school or exams officer.
